Where we grow,

rise.

Surulere is home. It’s where our story begins, and where we want to give back—through care, learning, and opportunities that help our neighbours move forward.

Kassim Alli-Balogun · Founder

We carry Surulere with us. The Kassim Alli-Balogun Foundation began with a simple belief: when we have a chance to help someone, we should.

For our founder, Kassim Alli-Balogun, giving back means showing up. It means encouraging a young person, helping a neighbour take care of their health, and listening to what families need.

We’re starting close to home in Surulere. With people who share this heart for service, we hope to reach more communities across Lagos.

What matters to us

Care today.
Opportunity tomorrow.

Young people with dreams. Neighbours who need care. Families who could use a helping hand. These are the people at the heart of our plans.

Learning

Helping young
people grow

We want young people to have someone in their corner. Our plans include support for learning, mentorship, and chances to develop useful skills.

We’re working on this. Applications aren’t open yet.
Care

Looking after
our neighbours

Taking care of our health can be easier with support close by. We’re building on our medical outreach and working with partners to bring care and health information closer to the community.

Our medical outreach took place in September 2026.
Community

Supporting
one another

We want to help families, older people, and neighbours who are going through a difficult time. We’ll begin by listening and finding practical ways to lend a hand.

We’re shaping these plans. We’ll share more when they’re ready.

Showing up for our community

Our September
medical outreach.

On September 23, 2026, we held a medical outreach in Lagos. For us, giving back means making time for people and taking practical steps to help.

The event was presented in collaboration with the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa.

The event banner listed medical consultations, health checks and screenings, eye and dental care, and referrals. You can see the banner and watch moments from the outreach below.

A word from our founder

As we rise,
we reach back.

“Compassion should never end with sympathy—it must become action.”

One thoughtful opportunity can change the course of a life. That life can strengthen a family, a community, and a generation. We want to serve with integrity and help others rise with us.

From Surulere, with hope

Rooted in Surulere.
Growing with Lagos.

We want to grow across Lagos without losing the personal touch. Wherever we go, we’ll start the same way: listen to people, understand their needs, and work together.

Listen first

Our neighbours know their community best. We want their voices to help shape what we do.

Bring people together

There’s room for community groups, health professionals, volunteers, and anyone with a heart to help.

Take it one step at a time

Start with what we can do well, learn along the way, and reach more people as support grows.

Treat people with respect.

Every person deserves kindness and a say in their own story. We ask permission before sharing people’s experiences.

Make room for others.

When support becomes available, we’ll explain who it’s for and how to take part.

Keep our word.

Be clear about what we’re doing, what’s still a plan, and what we’ve learned.

There is a place for you

A stronger community
starts with all of us.

Maybe you have a little time, a useful skill, or an idea that could help. We’d love to hear from you. Let’s find a way to give back together.
